Tanpura

I have bought a tanpura from Nithai and Tarak Nath, a father - son intrument making team. This gorgeous instrument has transformed my Dhrupad practise every day.

I also have such a tanpura, which I bought directly from Tarak in the 1990s while in Varanasi. I carried it around North India (on top of buses and in trains). I then lent it to someone when I came back to Australia, who lent it to someone else. I only got it back last week, and am glad that it is in good working order. I remember Tarak saying that it will sound much better in a few years. Cheers from Sydney.
